Start Date: July 27-31st

I can’t believe this is my final week of the internship - this summer truly flew by, but I appreciate all the fun and educational tasks that I completed. I am so thankful to Mark, Kelly and Nathan- they are such cool people and I am so thankful to have been able to work with them. I learned so much from them and have so many valuable memories of all the crop scouting, office work and outreach education we did this summer! I really enjoyed going to community events and learning about what programs and projects are being done. In Montgomery county, I learned from my mentor Kelly about the close encounters program that they have in the fall. And I mentioned to her if they had any of the programs in other languages- and she said unfortunately not- so we started talking about how to translate some of the work into Spanish first- and hopefully more in the future.

Here we were sifting through the soil cores from a Turf lawn.
We made a makeshift soil sifting station on the lawn. I only found eggs and one small grub on site.
Here is one of the buckets filled with rejected soil lol- we sifted through this and only found ants, eggs and some spiders.
